The 2010 Debate

The Trades Union Congress and the British Chambers of Commerce hosted this debate on the future of employment regulation.  Has the recession revealed the flaws of a light-touch approach or is the recovery stifled by a tangle of red tape?

Brendan Barber (TUC General Secretary) and Howard Reed (independent economist) debated with David Frost (BCC Director General) and Professor Francis Chittenden (Manchester Business School), considering the arguments set out in the TUC’s Red Tape Delusion and the BCC’s Employment Regulation: Up for the Job?. The Debate will be chaired by Christine Buckley.
